Success

The doctor is in!

mjh: Do you want to fail?
her: i think part of me does
her: part of me thinks thats what i’m supposed to do
her: part of me thinks that i’m not like everyone
her: everyone is successful
her: i don’t feel successful
mjh: How do you define success?
mjh: If you don’t want to be successful, then by not being successful, you are achieving your goal!
mjh: So that would make you successful.

  1. but then if she doesn’t want to be successful, by achieving her goal & making her successful…she is not successful in achieving of the goal of not being successful. So, in order for her to be unsuccessful for wanting to be unsuccessful, she must be successful?

  2. I’m rephrasing what you said, which was: If she doesn’t want to be successful, then by achieving her goal of unsuccess (which makes her successful), then she was unsuccessful at achieving unsuccess, making her successful and unsuccessful at the same time, but at different things: (1) success at being unsuccessful in general; (2) unsuccess at being unsuccessful in being unsuccessful; (3) success at being unsuccessful at being unsuccessful in being unsuccessful… and so on, to infinity.
